Need ideas for your new home garden design in St. Thomas? Canadale Nurseries is pleased to present the Design and Inspiration Gardens; a compelling display of garden designs and floral combinations to help customers visualize ideas for their own landscaped yards.
The concept was born during a horticultural tour of South Africa by Canadale president Tom Intven and his wife, Laurie. They were intrigued by a particular garden centre’s partnership and design competition where landscape contractors created 15 unique gardens for patrons to vote upon as their favourite, as well as to get ideas for landscaping their own yards. Aware of the clear lack of visual cues in the retail horticulture business in Ontario, the Intven’s returned home brimming with ideas. After months of planning, designing, consulting and implementing, Canadale’s Design and Inspiration Gardens was revealed.
Similar to what is seen in home building centres (e.g. entire kitchens created to mimic “real life” kitchens), the Design and Inspiration Gardens consist of several ’room’ gardens that exemplify different garden themes: Arbour Path Garden, Perennial Garden, Backyard Oasis, Oriental Garden, Ornamental Grass Garden, Back Yard BBQ Garden, Butterfly Garden and Backyard Deck Garden. In front of each, a colour design layout with a complete plant list is mounted, along with free copies for your reference.
The area also includes professional landscape designs by four Landscape Ontario contractors. These designs are displayed in front of three typical new home facades. Included are the contractors’ contact details, and free do-it-yourself instructions on how to implement their designs into your own yard.
For a timely assortment, the designs will change each season, with a complete overhaul each spring.
